Meet the Family

This photo was taken in Seattle. My husband, Gary is in the grey jacket. Sailing and racing is his passion. In the back of him is his daughter, Jen and son-in-law, Ben.

When he is not in the water, you will find him in the garage, restoring his vintage, MGB.

We’ve been married for 17 years. What makes our marriage work, we support one another, work very well together, listen to one another (usually I am the one whining).

August 15, 1998 – November 7, 2020

The oldest in the family, this is Misty. She just turned 22 yrs old. I had Misty since she was 8 weeks old. She is a mommy’s girl. She doesn’t do much anymore other than sleep, eat, whine, repeat.

On November 7, 2020, I had to make the most devastating decision to let my girl go. For about a week, she wasn’t eating or even walking. Saturday, November 5th, at 3:00 in the morning, I woke up to find her up and lost. I stayed up with her, carrying her and then there was a moment, she looked at me with tears in her eyes. I knew then, she was ready. I like to think she was waiting for me to assure her that I was okay with her being gone. We snuggled together. Then she gave me her last kiss.

When I took her in, and Dr. Bill injected her, she was gone. I knew then she was tired. I miss her so much!!!

Then we have Oscar. We are his second family. He is now 16 years. I was trying to find a picture of him with his brown, now covered in grey. He too eats, sleeps, repeat. One thing he doesn’t do that was so irritating, bark. He doesn’t bark for anything anymore.

Next in line, is “S**t head, Kappy. He is 10 years old. Kappy is a Pugzu. Half pug, half shih tzu. Another mommy’s boy. Dominant, stubborn, whines, whines, barks, barks, and so on. He drives us nuts!

Goliath. Full bred American bulldog. We rescued him here in Hawaii. We are his fourth family, Poor guy. The sweetest temperament. We are so lucky to have him. Very smart, loving. and talkative. But, a good guard dog.

The youngest of the family. Well we think Cody is. He was shipped over from Oahu to us here on the Big Island. He jumped into my nieces car out of no where. She had no clue about cats. I gave her instructions on trying to find his family. Well, the rest is history. He was flown here to the big island. The rest is history.

He fits our family perfectly! Sweet soul, loving, and another mommy’s boy.

Well there you have it! I wouldn’t want my life any other way. My life is complete all due to everyone of them.
